From 2002-2008, the Clue universe faced a major expansion. Similar to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, the Clue games from that time all connected to each other and told one big story about Mr. Boddy and his friends. The amount of detail that they put in these games were unreal. Leading up to these games are some important details about Mr. Boddy and his family. Apparently after his parents mysteriously died, he was sent to be taken care of by his extremely wealthy uncle, Dr. Black. After his uncle “drowned” while with Mrs. Peacock, Mr. Boddy was placed in charge of the estate until his 30th birthday, June 5th, 1926. Once then, the riches will all be his. Since he has part of his uncle’s wealth, the suspects go after him and his life like what they originally did with Dr. Black. Everything leads up to his eventual death in regular Clue.

Starting out first is Clue Mysteries, which takes place from June 1, 1925 to August 7, 1925. Here key characters are introduced. Along with the classic 6 and Mr. Boddy there’s Rusty- Mr. Boddy’s gardener, Miss Peach- Miss Scarlet’s rival, Lord Gray- garden architect and Mr. Boddy’s neighbor, Prince Azure- African Prince and Mr. Boddy’s childhood friend, Lady Lavender- mysterious herbalist, Mr. and Mrs. Meadow-Brook- Mr. Boddy’s lawyer and town busybody, and finally Inspector Brown- the person the player works with to catch the criminal. The 50 mysteries included are all minor offences, ranging from stealing for the Offering plate to attempted murder. Each case also offers a bit of the story and character development. The last part ends up to Mr. Meadow-Brook calling out all the suspects over their greed and relies someone has tampered with Mr. Boddy’s uncle’s will. However, things do not end up will for him.

Next on the line up comes Clue FX. Taking place right after Clue Mysteries on August 8, 1925. Someone has murdered Mr. Meadow-Brook over the will outside on the grounds of the estate. The suspects are the original six along with Rusty and Mrs. Meadow-Brook. It is now up to Lady Lavender, Prince Azure, Miss Peach, and Lord Gray to figure out and tell Inspector Brown who committed the crime. All this with the help of Mr. Ashe, the butler serving as the narrator. Some people say this game is like a futuristic Clue, since it utilizes the technology of the early 2000s to run an interactive battery operated, completed with responses and voices for the suspects. After this part of the story is in place, things really start to speed up.

After the death of Mr. Meadow-Brook, Mr. Boddy feels the need to go on a long vacation. Once he comes back, the mysteries of Clue DVD start to happen. Going from September 1925-May 1926, someone is always trying to steal something valuable. That’s where the player and Inspector Brown work together to uncover who stole what, in which room, and at what time. Once again Mr. Ashe lends his services by stating what he saw at that time. As each theft happens Mr. Boddy gets more and more fed up until at the final case he meets with everyone one on one to discus his and his uncle’s will. That’s what puts the final nail in the coffin and a few days later he is murdered at a house party on June 5th, his birthday. Regular Clue now takes place at that time.

Finally Clue Express takes place. Hours after the body of Mr. Boddy is found, Inspector Brown is called to the scene to investigate. But after looking around it was discovered that there were actually 2 people involved! They acted as the brains and the brawn of the operation. Once justice has been served, the guilty party is sent to jail and life goes on. Although that most of the people involved could go free, their lives will forever be altered by what they have done.
